First Youth Group Meeting of the Year:
Launching of The Young Hands of Christ
We are pleased to announce the launch of Young Hands of Christ, a new youth ministry at St Ambrose Barlow for children and young people of our parish. Young Hands of Christ will nurture faith, build community and encourage practical service through age-appropriate catechesis, creative prayer, social activities and outreach projects that help young people put Gospel values into action.
Who it’s for
Open to young people from Year 6 through age 18.
What the programme includes
Monthly Saturday group sessions.
Occasional workshops and retreats.
Volunteer opportunities supporting parish life.
Family-focused events to strengthen faith at home and foster intergenerational bonds.
Safeguarding and leadership
All activities are led by trained volunteers and safeguarding-compliant team members committed to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for every child and family.
Launch: Sunday 14 February
Commissioning Mass, 1:00 PM: We will formally bless and recognise our young people as instruments of service in the parish.
After Mass, all young people (Year 6–Year 13) are invited to the parish hall until 3:00 PM for light snacks, games and the "Hands" Mural project.
Next steps
Pick up a Welcome Letter & Consent Form at the back of the church today. The leaflet explains our Five Pillars — Speech, Conduct, Love, Faith and Purity — and gives full details about sessions, permissions and volunteering.
Come and discover what your hands were built for. We look forward to welcoming young people and families to Young Hands of Christ.
