First Communion for St. Mark’s Primary School
We warmly welcome the pupils of St Mark’s Primary School as they prepare to receive their First Holy Communion this summer. This important milestone in their faith journey will be celebrated at Saint Mark’s Church with a special Mass, where children, families and parishioners will join in prayer, hymns and the sharing of the Eucharist.
The sacrament of Holy Communion is central to Catholic life: through the Eucharist we receive Christ’s real presence, are nourished spiritually, and are drawn deeper into the life of the Church. First Holy Communion marks a child’s first full participation in this sacred mystery, strengthening their relationship with Jesus and with the parish community. It also reminds the whole community of our call to worship, serve one another, and grow together in faith.
Preparatory sessions led by the parish catechists and school staff have supported the children’s understanding of the sacrament, and we invite the whole parish community to accompany them with encouragement and prayer. Please keep the candidates and their families in your prayers as they approach this joyful and sacred day.
