DAILY GOSPEL MEAL OF TUESDAY, 24/03/26

My dear friends,

Jesus says something terrifying in the gospel of today — “You will die in your sin.”

Notice he did not say “in your sins “(plural). He said “in your sin” (singular). The one sin he was talking about is this: refusing Him.

Now listen carefully. The Pharisees looked directly into the face of God and asked “Who are you?” Imagine that! God standing before you, and you cannot recognise Him because your pride has blinded you completely.

They were educated men. They were  religious men. They were respectable men. But because of their arrogance, they missed God entirely.

The breathtaking part is that Jesus did not abandon them. He said to them that when you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know. The cross will do what argument cannot.

My friends, none of us fully understands Christ until we have stood beneath His cross and felt its shadow fall upon our own suffering.

That shadow is not darkness — it is mercy.

God bless you.
