A Message from Our Parish Priest

Welcome to St. Ambrose Barlow! We are so glad you are here.

Whether you are a lifelong parishioner, a new family in the neighbourhood, or are searching for a spiritual home, you have a place in our community. We are a parish rooted in the love of Christ and the Eucharist, inspired by the steadfast faith of our patron, St. Ambrose Barlow, who gave his life for the Mass.

Our mission is to encounter Jesus Christ, grow as his disciples, and go out to serve the world in His name. We invite you to join us for Mass, explore our ministries, and find fellowship and spiritual nourishment with us.

We look forward to meeting you. May God bless you and your family.

In Christ,

Fr. Ernest

“I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.”

Philippians 3:10

“All to God, from God and in God.”

From Our Assistant Parish Priest

It is a true joy and a profound blessing to serve you as Assistant Priest here at St. Ambrose Barlow, alongside Fr. Ernest. This parish is a beautiful family, rich in faith and history, and I am grateful for every day I get to walk with you on our shared journey to Christ.

My mission here is simple: to be a servant to this community, to bring you the Sacraments, and to share in both your joys and your sorrows. Whether I see you at the altar, in the confessional, or just passing by in the community, my door is always open.

Please never hesitate to say hello or ask for a prayer. May God bless you and your families, and may our great patron, St. Ambrose Barlow, intercede for us all.

Blessings,

Fr Emmanuel

 Mission Statement

“Creating a safer environment is paramount to ensuring that the Diocese of Salford fosters a culture of safeguarding. We will ensure that everyone in the Diocese understands their responsibility to safeguarding and promote the well- being of those who worship in our churches or who join us for any activity facilitated by church members. We will continue to strive towards the highest standards of practice to keep people safe.”

(From the Salford Diocesan website)

In line with diocesan policy, we at St Ambrose Barlow parish are committed to do everything to ensure a safe environment for all parishioners and visitors, especially for the most vulnerable. All parish workers and volunteers who have contact with children or vulnerable adults are required to have checks made with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), and whilst this is already well established, we are constantly in the process of checking and updating our records and arranging for new DBS checks where needed. If you have any safeguarding concerns, our parish Safeguarding Representatives John Noone and Siobhan Royle can be contacted directly via officestambrosebarlow@gmail.com. Alternatively, you can contact the diocesan safeguarding team on 0161 817 2206.
