Good Friday 2026
Good Friday at St Ambrose Barlow Parish was observed with profound solemnity and reverent unity. Parishioners, families and visitors gathered to commemorate the Passion of Our Lord during the Liturgy of the Passion, which led the community through the scriptural account of Christ’s suffering and death. The Passion narrative was proclaimed in attentive silence, followed by intercessions offered for the Church, the world, and all who suffer or are in need.
A central and moving moment was the Veneration of the Cross, when the faithful approached in prayerful humility to honour the instrument of our salvation. The liturgy also included the distribution of Holy Communion, enabling the assembly to partake in the sacramental remembrance of Christ’s self‑giving love.
Extended periods of quiet contemplation, sacred music and communal prayer provided space for personal reflection on the mystery of redemption. The service united the parish in gratitude for Christ’s sacrifice and in a renewed resolve to live more faithfully in his service. All members of the parish and the wider community were warmly welcomed to participate in this solemn observance.
